The two port authorities of Hamburg and Halifax have officially <\/p>\n

signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to set up a joint maritime innovation <\/p>\n

network platform during the GreenTech for Ports and Terminals Conference <\/p>\n

2023.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Ports<\/p>\n

The PIER and homePORT Hamburg set up the platform as an \u201cOpen Innovation <\/p>\n

Platform\u201d to exchange best practices, solutions, and challenges.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The PIER is a global centre of excellence for research and collaboration in <\/p>\n

port innovation, planning, and strategy in Halifax, Canada.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The homePORT is an innovation campus located in the centre of the Port of <\/p>\n

Hamburg, Germany.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Jens Meier, CEO of the Hamburg Port Authority and Allan Gray, President and <\/p>\n

CEO of the Halifax Port Authority, inked the MoU amid the GreenTech for Ports <\/p>\n

and Terminals Conference 2023 on 21 February.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to the two port authorities, the objectives and visions of The <\/p>\n

PIER and homePORT are very similar.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Both organisations want to reinforce their collaboration to produce added <\/p>\n

value as the two innovation ecosystems have a similar orientation.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cThe digital cooperation in the field of innovation will now be concretized <\/p>\n

and intensified through this partnership,\u201d the Port of Hamburg reported.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This deal comes several months after Air Products and Mabanaft announced <\/p>\n

they will build Germany\u2019s first large-scale, green energy import terminal in the <\/p>\n
