W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4 Voyage, part of the technology group W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4, has signed <\/p>\n

a contract for a five-year framework agreement with Associated British Ports <\/p>\n

(ABP).<\/strong><\/p>\n

The deal signed with ABP, one of the UK's leading port groups, will <\/p>\n

digitalise operations at its 21 ports.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The project aims to accelerate the digital transformation of port calls and <\/p>\n

operations, making them as efficient, sustainable and safe as possible.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4 Voyage technologies chosen for the project include Navi-Port, <\/p>\n

Navi-Harbour Vessel Traffic Services, and Port Management Information System <\/p>\n

(PMIS).<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Sean Fernback, President, W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4 Voyage commented: \u201cABP truly understands <\/p>\n

approach has cemented its position as the UK's leading ports group. This new <\/p>\n

agreement will help ABP maintain its competitive advantage now and into the <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The project, which began in June, will span multiple phases across all of <\/p>\n

ABP's ports.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4's Vessel Traffic Services system and Port Management Information <\/p>\n

System are expected to be integrated into the Port of Southampton before April <\/p>\n

2023, with other solutions subsequently being deployed across ABP's other 20 <\/p>\n

ports.<\/p>\n

The agreement with ABP includes an ongoing human factor review to ensure <\/p>\n

the existing control room environment is optimised for people's needs and is <\/p>\n

fully compliant with all national and international standards and <\/p>\n

guidelines.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year ABP awarded a long-term lease to Maritime Transport to <\/p>\n

operate Hams Hall, one of the UK's busiest rail freight terminals.<\/p>\n
