International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) will acquire <\/p>\n

a majority stake in an Indonesian port as the operator expands its global <\/p>\n

footprint.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Philippines-based firm signed a Conditional Share Subscription and <\/p>\n

Purchase Agreement with Indo Port Holding Pte Ltd. and Eastlog Holding Pte Ltd <\/p>\n

to acquire majority ownership in PT East Java Development \u2013 which has the <\/p>\n

concession rights, with 47 years remaining in its concession, to operate a <\/p>\n

multi-purpose terminal located in Lamongan Regency, East Java, Indonesia.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

ICTSI is buying a a 66.7 per cent stake in a multipurpose port for $46.5 <\/p>\n

million, the company announced in a filing to Securities and Exchange <\/p>\n

Commission.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The signing was made on 27 July.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cThe purchase will increase ICTSI\u2019s footprint in the growing Asia Pacific <\/p>\n

region and provide further service offerings to its global and local customer,\u201d <\/p>\n

ICTSI wrote.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

ICTSI has operations in six continents. It operates 33 terminals across 20 <\/p>\n

countries.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

ICTSI is readying expansion investments at its terminals in the Ports of La <\/p>\n

Plata and Dock Sud to support flow of trade in the metropolitan areas of Greater <\/p>\n

Buenos Aires and Greater La Plata.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In June the firm announced the Argentinian terminal operated by TecPlata <\/p>\n

S.A., a subsidiary of International Container Terminal Services (ICTSI), in <\/p>\n

cooperation with Vessel S.A. will launch a new weekly service between the La <\/p>\n

Plata Port and the Port of Montevideo in Uruguay.<\/p>\n
