MSC(Mediterranean Shipping Company S.A) has announced the opening <\/p>\n

of a new branch of MEDWAY in Belgium, which commenced operations late last <\/p>\n

week.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"MSC<\/strong><\/p>\n

Falling under MSC\u2019s inland logistics partner MEDLOG, the new rail <\/p>\n

enterprise will operate as a licensed freight rail operator in Belgium, the <\/p>\n

Netherlands, Germany, and Austria.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

From launch, the branch will operate daily connections between the Port of <\/p>\n

Antwerp-Bruges and four destinations in Germany: Neuss, Frankfurt, Germersheim, <\/p>\n

W\u00f6rth Am Rhein.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In the mid-term it will also connect the other major key ports in Northern <\/p>\n

Europe; Bremerhaven, Rotterdam, and Hamburg, with inland areas in central <\/p>\n

Europe.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

While the service remains open to all types, this service will mainly <\/p>\n

facilitate the movement of white goods, chemicals, automotives and food <\/p>\n

stuffs.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Salvatore Prudente, MEDLOG Executive Director, said: \u201cThe new MEDWAY <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The rail transit branch launches with four electric interoperable <\/p>\n

locomotives currently in the fleet and more to be supplied at a later date. The <\/p>\n

locomotives are supplied by MEDWAY partner Alphatrains and railcars by VTG.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In February MSC introduced a new intermodal solution for the <\/p>\n
