Sallaum Lines has celebrated the European debut of its first LNG dual-fuel <\/p>\n

newbuilding, the Ocean Breeze, with a landmark ceremony in the Port of <\/p>\n

Antwerp.<\/p>\n

The milestone was marked on 19 September with a celebration at Sallaum <\/p>\n

Terminal, attended by international guests including government officials, OEM <\/p>\n

representatives, port executives, and industry partners.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Guests toured the Ocean Breeze and the upgraded terminal facilities before <\/p>\n

joining a ceremony that featured keynote speeches by Natalie Sallaum and Johan <\/p>\n

Klaps, Deputy Mayor for Port and Economy, City of Antwerp.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

A panel discussion on the future of automotive logistics and an official <\/p>\n

ribbon-cutting underlined the significance of the occasion for both Sallaum <\/p>\n

Lines and the wider industry.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Ocean Breeze has capacity for 7,500 CEUs and is powered by dual-fuel <\/p>\n

LNG engines. The vessel delivers substantial reductions in CO2, NO\u2093, and <\/p>\n

particulate emissions compared to conventional tonnage. An optimised hull design <\/p>\n

and energy-saving devices further increase efficiency.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Chief Relationship Officer Natalie Sallaum of Sallaum Lines, said: \u201cThe <\/p>\n

Ocean Breeze is not just about capacity, but about shaping a cleaner, more <\/p>\n

resilient supply chain for the decades ahead.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cOur customers demand scale, sustainability, and reliability: the Ocean <\/p>\n

Breeze proves we can deliver all three. More than a vessel, it represents a new <\/p>\n

chapter in automotive logistics, preparing us for the next wave of vehicle flows <\/p>\n

between Asia, Europe, and beyond.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

To accommodate its growing fleet, Sallaum Terminal Antwerp recently <\/p>\n

completed a \u20ac20 million ($23.6 million) expansion.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Capacity has been increased from 10,000 to 17,000 CEUs with a new <\/p>\n

multi-level Parkhouse and upgraded berth infrastructure, enabling four RoRo <\/p>\n

vessels to be handled simultaneously.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Additional facilities for pre-delivery inspection, breakbulk handling, <\/p>\n

warehousing, and intermodal connections ensure faster and more reliable services <\/p>\n

for OEMs.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

David Van Ballaert, Managing Director of Sallaum Terminal, stated: \u201cThe <\/p>\n

expansion turns Antwerp into the backbone of Sallaum\u2019s European network.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cWith greater capacity and faster processing, we are giving our partners <\/p>\n

unmatched efficiency at a time when the automotive supply chain is rapidly <\/p>\n

evolving.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Ocean Breeze is the first of six LNG dual-fuel PCTCs to join the <\/p>\n

Sallaum Lines fleet by 2027, adding over 45,000 CEUs in capacity and <\/p>\n

strengthening Sallaum Lines\u2019 position among the top global RoRo carriers.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Supported by the expanded Antwerp hub, these vessels are part of Sallaum\u2019s <\/p>\n

global green logistics network.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The company is also preparing to implement shore power connections and <\/p>\n

solar energy systems at its terminal, reinforcing its 2030 net-zero <\/p>\n

ambition.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Earlier this April, Sallaum Lines partnered with Inmarsat Maritime to <\/p>\n

implement the NexusWave bonded connectivity service, becoming an early regional <\/p>\n
