{"id":293,"date":"2025-08-25T09:20:57","date_gmt":"2025-08-25T01:20:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hajomech.com\/dp-world-boosts-carbon-credits-for-uk-container-imports\/"},"modified":"2025-08-25T09:20:57","modified_gmt":"2025-08-25T01:20:57","slug":"dp-world-boosts-carbon-credits-for-uk-container-imports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.hajomech.com\/dp-world-boosts-carbon-credits-for-uk-container-imports\/","title":{"rendered":"DP World boosts carbon credits for UK container imports"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"max-width:900px; margin:0 auto; background-color:rgb(246,246,246); padding:20px;line-height:30px\">\n<p>DP World expects a fivefold increase in its Carbon Inset Programme, helping <\/p>\n<p>businesses cut their indirect emissions.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hajomech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/1756083605148064-1.jpg\" alt=\"DP World boosts carbon credits for UK container imports\" title=\"DP World boosts carbon credits for UK container imports\" style=\"width: 100%; height: 100%; padding:20px 0px\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Since January 2025, the programme has seen over 200,000 TEU registrations. <\/p>\n<p>From 1 October 2025, every loaded container imported via DP World\u2019s UK ports <\/p>\n<p>will qualify for Carbon Inset Credits of 250kg CO2e, up from the previous 50kg <\/p>\n<p>CO2e.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The increased credits cover emissions from the entire port call, including <\/p>\n<p>containership manoeuvring and emissions from tug and pilot boats over the \u2018last <\/p>\n<p>nautical mile\u2019 at London Gateway and Southampton.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>This is made possible by DP World subsidiary Unifeeder and Svitzer\u2019s shift <\/p>\n<p>to lower carbon fuels across their Northern European networks.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>John Trenchard, Vice President for Sustainable International Supply Chains <\/p>\n<p>at DP World, said: \u201cThe strong interest in our Carbon Inset Programme since its <\/p>\n<p>launch in January shows that our customers are looking for practical, tangible <\/p>\n<p>ways to decarbonise their supply chains.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u201cExpanding the programme allows more cargo owners to immediately benefit <\/p>\n<p>from emissions reductions within their logistics operations.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt DP World, we\u2019re making more sustainable trade flow through pioneering <\/p>\n<p>initiatives, such as using lower carbon fuels, smarter logistics, and seamless <\/p>\n<p>port operations, which together deliver sustainability and competitiveness side <\/p>\n<p>by side.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Recently, DP World expanded its automotive logistics capacity to meet <\/p>\n<p>growing demand at Jebel Ali Port, with the launch of a new 2.6 million square <\/p>\n<p>foot vehicle storage yard at Terminal 4.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DP World expects a fivefold increase in its Carbon Inset Programme, helping businesses cut their indirect emissions.Since January 2025, the programme has seen over 200,000 TEU registrations.
