COSCO SHIPPING\u2019s subsidiary China Marine Bunker (PetroChina) Co., Ltd. has <\/p>\n

completed northern China\u2019s first bonded green methanol bunkering operation at <\/p>\n

Dalian Port.<\/p>\n

A total of 500 metric tonnes of domestically produced green fuels were <\/p>\n

supplied to China\u2019s first methanol dual-fuel container vessel, COSCO SHIPPING <\/p>\n

YANGPU.<\/p>\n

The operation marks the first time a northern Chinese port has supplied <\/p>\n

international vessels with ISCC-certified domestically produced green methanol, <\/p>\n

setting a model for accelerating Dalian\u2019s development into a Northeast Asian <\/p>\n

green ship fuel bunkering hub.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The green methanol was sourced entirely from China\u2019s largest production <\/p>\n

bases in Heilongjiang province and the Inner Mongolia autonomous region.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Produced through proprietary gasification synthesis technology using <\/p>\n

renewable feedstocks such as agricultural residues and recycled tyres, the fuel <\/p>\n

holds international ISCC certification for sustainability and carbon <\/p>\n

neutrality.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The green methanol produced in Heilongjiang province achieves a carbon <\/p>\n

emission reduction rate of over 100 per cent, reaching an internationally <\/p>\n

leading standard.<\/p>\n

\u201cAmid the accelerated decarbonisation in the global shipping industry, this <\/p>\n

successful bunkering operation not only effectively completed the closed-loop <\/p>\n

process of the green methanol \u2018production \u2013 transportation \u2013 storage \u2013 <\/p>\n

bunkering\u2019 chain in northeastern China, but also helped transform China\u2019s <\/p>\n

domestic renewable resource advantages into a continuous driving force for <\/p>\n

promoting the high-quality development of strategic emerging industries, <\/p>\n

demonstrating China\u2019s strong capabilities in the field of marine green energy,\u201d <\/p>\n

COSCO SHIPPING reported.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

As COSCO SHIPPING\u2019s first methanol dual-fuel vessel, COSCO SHIPPING YANGPU <\/p>\n

has a total length of 366 metres and a maximum capacity of 16,136 TEUs. After <\/p>\n

this bunkering, the vessel will continue its green journey on the trans-Pacific <\/p>\n

routes.<\/p>\n

Following the successful methanol bunkering operations at China\u2019s three key <\/p>\n

ports \u2014 Dalian Port, Yangshan Port in Shanghai, and Yangpu Port in Hainan <\/p>\n

province \u2014 a green methanol supply chain network spanning from the country\u2019s <\/p>\n

north to south has taken shape. This lays a solid foundation for COSCO <\/p>\n

SHIPPING\u2019s future decarbonisation endeavours and offers green solutions for the <\/p>\n

global shipping industry.<\/p>\n
