Moller \u2013 Maersk (Maersk) has commemorated the naming of its <\/p>\n<p>newest dual-fuel methanol container carrier in Mumbai as part of the vessel\u2019s <\/p>\n<p>inaugural journey to India.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hajomech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/1741138623799034-1.jpg\" alt=\"Maersk names 11th dual-fuel methanol vessel in Mumbai\" title=\"Maersk names 11th dual-fuel methanol vessel in Mumbai\" style=\"width: 100%; height: 100%; padding:20px 0px\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The vessel, called Albert Maersk, is the 11th in Maersk\u2019s <\/p>\n<p>fleet that can run on methanol.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The naming ceremony took place on 28 February, hosted by Vincent Clerc, <\/p>\n<p>CEO, A.P. Moller \u2013 Maersk, and was attended by the Honourable Minister of Ports, <\/p>\n<p>Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, the Honourable Minister of State for <\/p>\n<p>Youth Affairs and Sports, Raksha Khadse, diplomats, government authorities, <\/p>\n<p>customers, partners and Maersk employees.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Sarbananda Sonowal, Honourable Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, <\/p>\n<p>said: \u201cThis vessel naming is more than just a tradition\u2014it is a symbol of trust, <\/p>\n<p>collaboration, and a shared vision for the future. As India moves towards <\/p>\n<p>becoming a global maritime powerhouse, we welcome Maersk\u2019s <\/p>\n<p>continued partnership in green shipping, green fuel production, <\/p>\n<p>and logistics.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Vincent Clerc, CEO of A.P. Moller \u2013 Maersk, said: \u201cShipping and logistics <\/p>\n<p>are high on India\u2019s priorities, and Maersk looks forward to partnering with <\/p>\n<p>India on various aspects, such as exploring the potential sourcing of <\/p>\n<p>alternative fuels for low-emissions shipping and activities <\/p>\n<p>involving ship repairs and shipbuilding in the future that align well with the <\/p>\n<p>Indian Government\u2019s ambitions to promote the shipping <\/p>\n<p>sector.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>In November 2024, Maersk hailed the arrival of its newest dual-fuel <\/p>\n<p>methanol container carrier in Singapore, as part of its first trip from Asia to <\/p>\n<p>Europe.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A.P.
