Moller \u2013 Maersk (Maersk) has inked agreements with three yards <\/p>\n<p>for a total of 20 containerships with dual-fuel engines.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hajomech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/1733448035429344-1.jpg\" alt=\"Maersk completes deal for 20 dual-fuel vessels\" title=\"Maersk completes deal for 20 dual-fuel vessels\" style=\"width: 100%; height: 100%; padding:20px 0px\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The vessels have a total capacity of 300,000 TEUs. Maersk has completed the <\/p>\n<p>fleet renewal plan\u2019s August 2024 update by placing orders for additional <\/p>\n<p>buildings.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Anda Cristescu, Head of Chartering &amp; Newbuilding at Maersk, said: \u201cWe <\/p>\n<p>are pleased to have signed agreements for 20 vessels and thereby completed the <\/p>\n<p>acquisition of 300,000 TEU capacity as announced in August.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese orders are a part of our ongoing fleet renewal programme and in line <\/p>\n<p>with our commitment to decarbonisation, as all the vessels will have dual-fuel <\/p>\n<p>engines with the intent to operate them on lower emissions fuel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>All 20 ships will be fitted with liquified gas dual-fuel propulsion systems <\/p>\n<p>and range in size from 9,000 to 17,000 TEUs. The first vessels will be delivered <\/p>\n<p>in 2028, with the final delivery taking place in 2030.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>In November, Lufthansa Cargo and Maersk agreed to promote airfreight <\/p>\n<p>decarbonisation through the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Maersk hailed the arrival of its newest dual-fuel methanol <\/p>\n<p>container carrier in Singapore, as part of its first trip from Asia to <\/p>\n<p>Europe.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A.P.
