The project will reportedly cost more than $7 million and is <\/p>\n<p>part of the port\u2019s commitment to transition all elements of marine operations to <\/p>\n<p>zero emissions.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The Port of Oakland\u2019s project aims to advance the commercialisation of <\/p>\n<p>zero-emissions container handling equipment (CHE) by creating and demonstrating <\/p>\n<p>two zero-emissions fuel cell electric top loaders (FCETLs) at high technical <\/p>\n<p>readiness.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the project intends to fill a significant technical gap by <\/p>\n<p>employing Hyundai\u2019s Class 8 fuel cell electric truck to construct the first <\/p>\n<p>zero-emission hydrogen wet-hose mobile refuelled, while providing fuel to <\/p>\n<p>hydrogen vehicles at ports and other businesses while maintaining maximum <\/p>\n<p>operational uptime.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Port stakeholders, including the Alameda County Transportation Commission <\/p>\n<p>(Alameda CTC), TraPac, and the Hyster-Yale Group, will contribute to local <\/p>\n<p>project funds through existing cost-sharing arrangements.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Alameda CTC will provide up to $2 million to fund this project.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Port of Oakland Executive Director, Danny Wan, said: \u201cWe are working <\/p>\n<p>non-stop towards achieving the goal of becoming a zero-emissions port.
