Maersk Container Industry (MCI) has introduced a new reefer <\/p>\n

technology, Star Cool 1.1, as part of its efforts to support more sustainable <\/p>\n

global cold chains.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This new technology reportedly incorporates features designed to reduce <\/p>\n

environmental impact while meeting modern needs.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Star Cool 1.1 incorporates the climate-friendly refrigerant R1234yf, <\/p>\n

which offers an ultra-low Global Warming Potential (GWP).<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to MCI, this initiative is the first of its kind in the industry, <\/p>\n

offering the Star Cool 1.1 as a solution that aims to reduce greenhouse gas <\/p>\n

emissions from refrigerants while maintaining energy efficiency.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The unit also features enhanced energy efficiency, consuming 8 per cent <\/p>\n

less energy than previous models through advancements in compressor technology <\/p>\n

and design optimisation.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Star Cool 1.1 compressor technology builds on the established <\/p>\n

principles of previous models, offering improved temperature control and better <\/p>\n

cargo care.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The system includes an energy metre that records usage and wirelessly <\/p>\n

transmits data via the Sekstant solution, providing operators with detailed <\/p>\n

information on energy consumption and carbon footprint for specific voyages or <\/p>\n

time frames.<\/p>\n

Star Cool 1.1 is designed to adapt to changing global refrigerant <\/p>\n

regulations and environmental standards, supporting both sustainability and <\/p>\n

efficient operation.<\/p>\n
