(OOCL) give metrics for <\/p>\n<p>all five services, with OOCL including its non-alliance LLX service. COSCO only <\/p>\n<p>supplies one measurement for its AEU3 service.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Switching from CMA CGM to OOCL may potentially lower emissions by 71 per <\/p>\n<p>cent. The company noted that this is not accurate because the cargo moves on the <\/p>\n<p>same underlying vessel, but it does represent significant variances in approach, <\/p>\n<p>most notably CMA CGM\u2019s usage of Well-to-Wake.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>To circumvent this specific problem, Sea-Intelligence noted that it may <\/p>\n<p>exclude CMA CGM from the comparison and instead compare OOCL to Evergreen, <\/p>\n<p>resulting in a possible reduction in carbon emissions of up to 42 per cent \u2013 <\/p>\n<p>which, again, is not accurate.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Alan Murphy, CEO of Sea-Intelligence, said: \u201cThis goes to show that it is <\/p>\n<p>wholly impossible for shippers to use the carriers\u2019 carbon calculators, for any <\/p>\n<p>kind of meaningful comparative analysis.
