(TecPlata), the Argentinian affiliate of <\/p>\n<p>International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI), has become the first <\/p>\n<p>port in the country to achieve carbon-neutral status.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hajomech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/1724204823859633-1.jpg\" alt=\"TecPlata becomes first carbon-neutral port in Argentina\" title=\"TecPlata becomes first carbon-neutral port in Argentina\" style=\"width: 100%; height: 100%; padding:20px 0px\"\/><\/p>\n<p>TecPlata\u2019s accreditation is consistent with its overall sustainability <\/p>\n<p>objectives, which include waste management, efficient water usage, and emission <\/p>\n<p>reductions.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The certification procedure adhered to the worldwide criteria established <\/p>\n<p>by the GHG Protocol and ISO14064-1, with assistance from Carbon Neutral+.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The firm obtained carbon credits verified by Verra\u2019s Verified Carbon <\/p>\n<p>Standard (VCS). These credits are associated with the Manantiales Behr Wind Farm <\/p>\n<p>project in Argentina, which is owned by YPF.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>TecPlata is supporting ICTSI\u2019s efforts to cut GHG emissions from its <\/p>\n<p>operations (Scope 1) and bought power (Scope 2) by 26 per cent per container <\/p>\n<p>transport by 2030 (with 2021 as the baseline).<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>It is the fifth ICTSI Group port to achieve carbon neutrality, including <\/p>\n<p>Contecon Guayaquil in Ecuador, Contecon Manzanillo in Mexico, Rio Brasil <\/p>\n<p>Terminal, and Tecon Suape in Brazil.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Juan Pablo Trujillo, TecPlata Chief Executive Officer, said: \u201cThis <\/p>\n<p>certification is a testament to TecPlata\u2019s dedication to minimising our <\/p>\n<p>environmental impact. By reducing and offsetting our carbon footprint, we <\/p>\n<p>contribute to the protection of our planet and, at the same time, promote the <\/p>\n<p>use of renewable energy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>In July 2023, TecPlata received the inaugural call of ZIM Integrated <\/p>\n<p>Shipping Services (ZIM) Patagonia Express Service (PES).<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TecPlata S.A.
