{"id":609,"date":"2024-05-07T09:30:04","date_gmt":"2024-05-07T01:30:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hajomech.com\/port-of-tianjin-to-assist-colombo-port-development\/"},"modified":"2024-05-07T09:30:04","modified_gmt":"2024-05-07T01:30:04","slug":"port-of-tianjin-to-assist-colombo-port-development","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.hajomech.com\/port-of-tianjin-to-assist-colombo-port-development\/","title":{"rendered":"Port of Tianjin to assist Colombo Port development"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"max-width:900px; margin:0 auto; background-color:rgb(246,246,246); padding:20px;line-height:30px\">\n<p><strong>The Port of Tianjin in China has expressed its willingness to <\/p>\n<p>assist in transforming the Port of Colombo, which is currently operating as a <\/p>\n<p>global container port, into a green port.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hajomech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/1715045290486568-1.jpg\" alt=\"Port of Tianjin to assist Colombo Port development\" title=\"Port of Tianjin to assist Colombo Port development\" style=\"width: 100%; height: 100%; padding:20px 0px\"\/><\/p>\n<p>On 29 April, a special delegation led by the Chairman of the Tianjin Port <\/p>\n<p>visited the Minister at the Ministry\u2019s office.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The Port of Tianjin, now ranked ninth in the global container port <\/p>\n<p>rankings, has joined other major container ports across the world in launching <\/p>\n<p>efforts to become green ports to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>According to the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA), scientific consensus <\/p>\n<p>affirms that increasing industrialisation and the associated rise in global <\/p>\n<p>warming caused by CO2 emissions are significant causes of natural catastrophes <\/p>\n<p>caused by climate and weather changes across the world.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>As a result, there is a suggestion to prioritise the use of green ammonia <\/p>\n<p>to reduce dependency on different fossil fuels.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>During the discussion, the Minister reportedly thanked the team for <\/p>\n<p>assisting the Port of Colombo in its transition to a green port.
