Lines, Ltd. (MOL) has signed a Memorandum of <\/p>\n<p>Understanding (MoU) for the cooperative development of a synthetic fuel (e-fuel) <\/p>\n<p>and synthetic methanol (e-methanol) supply chain.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hajomech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/1710897325361359-1.jpg\" alt=\"MOL, Idemitsu, HIF partner to enhance e-methanol supply chain\" title=\"MOL, Idemitsu, HIF partner to enhance e-methanol supply chain\" style=\"width: 100%; height: 100%; padding:20px 0px\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The supply chain allegedly involves CO<sub>2<\/sub> marine transport with Idemitsu <\/p>\n<p>Kosan Co., Ltd., HIF USA LLC, and HIF Asia Pacific Pty Limited (HIF), <\/p>\n<p>subsidiaries of HIF Global, a global supplier of synthetic fuels and <\/p>\n<p>methanol.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Synthetic fuels and synthetic methanol are produced by synthesizing green <\/p>\n<p>hydrogen derived from renewable energy sources and CO<sub>2<\/sub>.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The entire lifecycle of the product, from production to use of the final <\/p>\n<p>product, is expected to significantly reduce carbon emissions, and is positioned <\/p>\n<p>for swift commercialisation.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>In this cooperative development project, the partners will collaborate to <\/p>\n<p>create a synthetic fuel\/methanol supply chain that uses transport CO<sub>2<\/sub> as a raw <\/p>\n<p>material, primarily through feasibility studies.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The feasibility studies will include the following components: CO<sub>2<\/sub> maritime <\/p>\n<p>transit from Japan to HIF\u2019s overseas synthetic fuels\/methanol manufacturing <\/p>\n<p>plants, the establishment of a supply network to transfer synthetic <\/p>\n<p>fuels\/methanol produced by HIF in overseas facilities to Japan, and <\/p>\n<p>cost-effective sea transportation of CO<sub>2<\/sub> and synthetic methanol.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Recently, MOL and Rio Tinto, a dry bulk shipper, signed a Partnership <\/p>\n<p>Agreement to enhance decarbonisation of maritime transportation.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mitsui O.S.K.
