{"id":719,"date":"2024-01-17T10:07:40","date_gmt":"2024-01-17T02:07:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hajomech.com\/apmt-pipavav-announces-green-hydrogen-ecosystem\/"},"modified":"2024-01-17T10:07:40","modified_gmt":"2024-01-17T02:07:40","slug":"apmt-pipavav-announces-green-hydrogen-ecosystem","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.hajomech.com\/apmt-pipavav-announces-green-hydrogen-ecosystem\/","title":{"rendered":"APMT Pipavav announces green hydrogen ecosystem"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"max-width:900px; margin:0 auto; background-color:rgb(246,246,246); padding:20px;line-height:30px\">\n<p><strong>APM Terminals (APMT) Pipavav has signed a series of Memorandums of <\/p>\n<p>Understanding (MoU) to develop a complete green hydrogen ecosystem and port <\/p>\n<p>infrastructure.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hajomech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/1705455491353616-1.jpg\" alt=\"APMT Pipavav announces green hydrogen ecosystem\" title=\"APMT Pipavav announces green hydrogen ecosystem\" style=\"width: 100%; height: 100%; padding:20px 0px\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The first-move advantage of this initiative will reportedly provide <\/p>\n<p>economic benefits for both the local and regional economy, boost employment and <\/p>\n<p>support wider decarbonisation goals.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The three MoU signed by APMT pull together a consortium of local and <\/p>\n<p>international partners to set up a 100 per cent green value chain.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The agreements will enable the production, transportation by ship, storage <\/p>\n<p>and transshipment, and the distribution of hydrogen. This is expected to drive <\/p>\n<p>significant volumes at APMT, bring associated economic benefits and boost <\/p>\n<p>regional employment.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>APMT signed MoU with integrated power company, NTPC, and multinational <\/p>\n<p>conglomerate, Welspun Group, to develop green hydrogen production and <\/p>\n<p>distribution facilities on land provided by the port, for both export and <\/p>\n<p>domestic use through various models.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>As part of the agreement with NTPC the project will explore sourcing <\/p>\n<p>renewable power from NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL).<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>A MoU signed with the Gujarat Maritime Board will reportedly help <\/p>\n<p>facilitate permissions for the construction of a Liquid Berth and marine <\/p>\n<p>infrastructure development at Pipavav Port.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Together with a new container berth, yard, and container handling <\/p>\n<p>equipment, the investment is estimated to be around INR3,320 crore ($400.1 <\/p>\n<p>million).<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe expect hydrogen demand to rise sharply over the next two decades, and <\/p>\n<p>the series of MoU signed today will give Pipavav and Gujarat State a first mover <\/p>\n<p>advantage, making it a front runner for attracting ongoing investment to make <\/p>\n<p>the most of this new global opportunity,\u201d said Girish Aggarwal, Managing <\/p>\n<p>Director of APMT Pipavav.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAPM Terminals Pipavav is committed to the community, environment and to <\/p>\n<p>the region.
