Moller \u2013 Maersk (Maersk) and Equinor have inked an agreement <\/p>\n<p>to provide green methanol supply for Maersk\u2019s new methanol-enabled feeder vessel <\/p>\n<p>during its initial months of operation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hajomech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/1694395711481431-1.jpg\" alt=\"Maersk, Equinor secure green methanol agreement\" title=\"Maersk, Equinor secure green methanol agreement\" style=\"width: 100%; height: 100%; padding:15px 0px\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The agreement assures that the ship will be able to operate in a loop from <\/p>\n<p>Northern Europe into the Baltic Sea following the name-giving ceremony later <\/p>\n<p>this month in Copenhagen. In Rotterdam, the green methanol will be stored.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Alex Grant, Senior Vice President for the liquid commodity segment at <\/p>\n<p>Equinor, said: \u201cEquinor is pleased to be partnering up with Maersk in delivering <\/p>\n<p>greener fuels to the marine industry.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u201cEquinor is an established player in the European methanol market through <\/p>\n<p>its production plant at Tjeldbergodden and we have ambitions to be a key <\/p>\n<p>provider of green methanol in the marine fuel segment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Rabab Bouloshief Infrastructure Officer at A.P. Moller \u2013 Maersk, stated: <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are very pleased to partner with Equinor, as it\u2019s entering this business <\/p>\n<p>area.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is critical to get energy majors to the table and start supplying <\/p>\n<p>future fuels at scale. This is the form of engagement we need to continue <\/p>\n<p>accelerating the pioneering journey towards a green fuel economy for global <\/p>\n<p>shipping.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith more than 100 methanol enabled vessels on order across the industry, <\/p>\n<p>the demand for green fuel production is rising and will continue to do so in the <\/p>\n<p>years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The operation for the feeder will begin this month and continue into the <\/p>\n<p>first half of 2024.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>This month, Maersk strengthened its presence in South America and the <\/p>\n<p>Caribbean with the inauguration of a 14,000 square-metre fulfilment centre in <\/p>\n<p>Colombia and a 3,500 square-metre fulfilment centre in Panama.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Maersk and Amazon agreed to ship 20,000 FFE (Forty Foot <\/p>\n<p>Equipment) containers using green biofuel via Maersk\u2019s \u2018ECO Delivery\u2019 maritime <\/p>\n<p>product offering from 2023 to 2024.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A.P.
