The on-board hydrogen fuel cell charges <\/p>\n<p>the batteries, which power the electric motors and hydraulic systems, allowing <\/p>\n<p>the reachstacker to lift heavy containers as efficiently as a diesel <\/p>\n<p>version.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Thanks to its Nuvera Fuel Cell Engine, the reachstacker offers several <\/p>\n<p>advantages over its conventional diesel-powered machines.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>It reduces greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, noise pollution and operating <\/p>\n<p>costs thanks to the elimination of the diesel engine, transmission and other <\/p>\n<p>mechanically-driven components.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The Hyster reachstacker will be tested and validated in real-world <\/p>\n<p>conditions at the MSC Port in Valencia.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Jan-Willem van den Brand, Director Global Market Development at Hyster, <\/p>\n<p>said: \u201cWe are proud to be part of the H2Ports project and to contribute to the <\/p>\n<p>development of zero-emission solutions for port operations.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe hydrogen fuel cell reachstacker is a breakthrough innovation that <\/p>\n<p>demonstrates our commitment to sustainability and customer satisfaction.
