Lines, Ltd. (MOL) and Chevron Singapore PTE. LTD. <\/p>\n<p>have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to reduce the carbon intensity <\/p>\n<p>of their maritime energy industries.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hajomech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/1688090028433262-1.jpg\" alt=\"MOL, Chevron sign maritime decarbonisation MoU\" title=\"MOL, Chevron sign maritime decarbonisation MoU\" style=\"width: 100%; height: 100%; padding:15px 0px\"\/><\/p>\n<p>As part of this agreement, the two companies will conduct a joint research <\/p>\n<p>on next-generation fuels in various regions around the world, and jointly study <\/p>\n<p>safety measures and legislations for lower-carbon operations.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Mark Ross, President of Chevron Shipping Company, stated: \u201cThrough <\/p>\n<p>collaborations such as these, Chevron aims to lead in lower carbon intensity <\/p>\n<p>oil, products and natural gas and at the same time advance new products and <\/p>\n<p>solutions that reduce the carbon intensity of major industries.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Nobuo Shiotsu, MOL Senior Managing Executive Officer, said: \u201cMOL is <\/p>\n<p>honoured to have the opportunity to jointly study GHG emission reductions <\/p>\n<p>through this MoU with Chevron.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u201cFirst, we will study and implement all possible means, including the use <\/p>\n<p>of next-generation fuels and the introduction of new decarbonisation <\/p>\n<p>technologies such as wind power and electricity, in tankers that have been <\/p>\n<p>chartered for a long period of time.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe would then like to expand these efforts to other parts of our <\/p>\n<p>business.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>MOL aims to increase vessel fuel economy and reduce GHG emissions through <\/p>\n<p>its collaboration with Chevron.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>In March of this year, MOL signed a MoU to build a clean hydrogen and <\/p>\n<p>ammonia value chain derived from renewable energy sources in southern <\/p>\n<p>Thailand.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>More recently, Marlink, a digital solutions provider, assisted MOL in <\/p>\n<p>assessing the impact of low-earth orbit (LEO) internet services on business <\/p>\n<p>sustainability and crew wellbeing.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mitsui O.S.K.
