Ltd. have signed a new shipbuilding contract for five 15,500 TEU LNG <\/p>\n<p>vessels.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hajomech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/1685587255791627-1.jpg\" alt=\"Yang Ming, Hyundai Heavy Industries sign off new LNG order\" title=\"Yang Ming, Hyundai Heavy Industries sign off new LNG order\" style=\"width: 100%; height: 100%; padding:15px 0px\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The contract signing was conducted by Yang Ming\u2019s Chief Marine Technology <\/p>\n<p>Officer, Captain James Jeng, and Hyundai Heavy Industries\u2019 Executive Vice <\/p>\n<p>President, Jae Ho Kang.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>These new vessels, to be built by Hyundai Heavy Industries, are a part of <\/p>\n<p>Yang Ming\u2019s mid-long term fleet plan. The LNG vessels are scheduled to be <\/p>\n<p>delivered in 2026.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>In response to the maritime net zero carbon emission target by 2050, Yang <\/p>\n<p>Ming is continuously building a green and energy-saving fleet.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>According to Yang Ming, a dedicated desk has been built to monitor energy <\/p>\n<p>efficiency and the development of future marine fuels.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>These five 15,500 TEU vessels will reportedly be equipped with <\/p>\n<p>high-pressure LNG dual fuel main engine and ballast water treatment system to <\/p>\n<p>meet the latest environmental regulations.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Yang Ming\u2019s current operating fleet comprises 94 LNG vessels, with a <\/p>\n<p>capacity of approximately 715,000 TEU.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>With these five 15,500 TEU LNG vessels, Yang Ming could potentially <\/p>\n<p>optimise its fleet, reduce operating costs, and improve carbon emission <\/p>\n<p>reduction.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Yang Ming believes that these new vessels can enhance the company\u2019s overall <\/p>\n<p>competitiveness, while providing comprehensive and quality service to its <\/p>\n<p>customers.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>In September 2022, Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp. welcomed its newest <\/p>\n<p>11,000 TEU containership YM Trillion.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp. and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Co.
