{"id":951,"date":"2023-04-28T16:20:01","date_gmt":"2023-04-28T08:20:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hajomech.com\/dp-world-nears-20-million-teu-in-q1-2023\/"},"modified":"2023-04-28T16:20:01","modified_gmt":"2023-04-28T08:20:01","slug":"dp-world-nears-20-million-teu-in-q1-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.hajomech.com\/dp-world-nears-20-million-teu-in-q1-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"DP World nears 20 million TEU in Q1 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"max-width:900px; margin:0 auto; background-color:rgb(246,246,246); padding:20px; line-height:25px; text-align: justify;\">\n<p><strong>DP World Limited has handled 19.5 million TEU across its global <\/p>\n<p>portfolio of container terminals in the first quarter of 2023.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hajomech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/1682667594581166-1.jpg\" alt=\"DP World nears 20 million TEU in Q1 2023\" title=\"DP World nears 20 million TEU in Q1 2023\" style=\"width: 100%; height: 100%; padding:15px 0px\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Gross container volumes increased by 1.4 per cent year-on-year on a <\/p>\n<p>reported basis and up 3.7 per cent on a like-for-like basis.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The growth was driven by a strong performance in Asia Pacific and India, <\/p>\n<p>despite being partially offset by softer performance in Europe and the Americas, <\/p>\n<p>according to the company.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The Port of Jebel Ali handled 3.5 million TEU in Q12023, reflecting a <\/p>\n<p>year-on-year increase by 2.3 per cent.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>At a consolidated level, DP World terminals handled 11.4 million TEU during <\/p>\n<p>the first quarter of 2023, up 0.7 per cent year-on-year on a reported basis but <\/p>\n<p>down 1.3 per cent on a like-for-like basis.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DP <\/p>\n<p>World, commented: \u201cOur portfolio has had an encouraging start to the year with <\/p>\n<p>container volume growth of 3.7 per cent, once again ahead of the market, which <\/p>\n<p>is estimated to be down by 6.3 per cent.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis outperformance continues to demonstrate that we are in the right <\/p>\n<p>locations, and our strategy to offer integrated supply chain solutions to <\/p>\n<p>beneficial cargo owners is driving value for our stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u201cA strong performance in Asia Pacific and India drove our growth.
