CMA CGM, Marlink & Eutelsat launch fleet-wide LEO network
CMA CGM Group, Marlink and Eutelsat will deploy OneWeb LEO connectivity across CMA CGM’s global fleet, integrating it with existing GEO and LEO networks through Marlink’s XChange NextGen platform.

Under the multi-year agreement, more than 300 vessels will be equipped with OneWeb LEO services over the next nine months.
Delivered and integrated by Marlink, the solution layers multi-orbit satellite networks to provide high-resilience, high-throughput, low-latency connectivity at an unprecedented fleet scale, enabling operational efficiency, real-time data exchange, and enhanced crew services comparable to shore-based digital performance.
The system also supports CMA CGM’s decarbonisation goals by enabling real-time optimisation of routes, speeds, and fuel consumption.
Built on Marlink’s XChange NextGen edge cloud platform, the deployment unlocks capabilities in cybersecurity, IIoT data collection, cloud enablement, and centralised fleet-wide network orchestration, ensuring predictable, continuous service regardless of sailing routes.
Ramon Fernandez, CMA CGM Executive VP and CFO, said: “Through this partnership, CMA CGM strengthens its global connectivity framework to support reliable maritime operations. The integration of OneWeb LEO services enhances fleet-wide robustness, operational efficiency, crew welfare, and our long-term sustainability and digital sovereignty objectives.”
Jean-François Fallacher, Eutelsat CEO, added: “This marks a major milestone in deploying OneWeb LEO services in maritime. Integrating OneWeb into CMA CGM’s ecosystem delivers a future-proof solution for high-performance, low-latency connectivity at sea, supported by our industrial partnership with Marlink.”
Marlink CEO, Erik Ceuppens, stated: “This landmark project demonstrates Marlink’s ability to deliver advanced digital solutions at scale. By equipping CMA CGM with a resilient, next-generation multi-LEO network, we enhance operational efficiency, safety, and decarbonisation across the fleet.”
Recently, CMA CGM announced an enhancement to its Asia–West Africa Central Range coverage, introducing a restructured WAX service offering designed to reflect evolving market demand and support regional growth.
