forum’s opening ceremony.

Both the Dutch Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management, Mark

Harbers, and the Chinese Transport Minister, Li Xiaopeng, gave video addresses

during the opening ceremony.

Allard Castelein, CEO of the Port of Rotterdam Authority, and Yu Fulin,

Director General of the Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission, signed an

online MoU for the purpose of advancing sister port relationships.

Since 2005, the seaports of Rotterdam and Shanghai have been connected by a

sister port.

The two ports have been working together in port administration, planning,

the environment, and efficiency for years.

The ports have decided to strengthen their sister port ties and cooperate

practically to safeguard the environment and streamline port operations.

The Port of Shanghai is the world’s biggest container port and is this

year’s busiest port in PTI’s list of ‘Top 10 Ports in China 2022‘.

The Port handled a staggering 39,080,000 TEU in the first 10 months of

2022.
